The first thing you need is to create an account, and then you need something to stream from; you can stream from your mobile, your tablet device, a Mac, a console or laptop, and of course, a PC.

Why do you need to block Twitch ads?

Twitch is planning a complete overhaul of the ad experience on their streaming platform, and that consists of two main differences you should be aware of them:

How much does the streamer get paid?
How many ads the viewer is going to watch?

Twitch will be increasing the ad revenue share from whatever they have been giving to creators up to 55 percent, which is probably because they are doing it to be on par with YouTube.

However, the caveat here is that to get the 55 percent, you have to enable two things:

You have to run three minutes of ads per hour.
Those ads have to be automated.

It means that when you are about to see a lot of clutch gaming moments, they are ruined by automated ads.

However, this would not be a big deal because three minutes per hour is a bit excessive, but it would be fine if the creator could choose where it goes. Nevertheless, this is not possible, and that is the problem!

How to block Twitch ads?

There are two new methods which you can use to block Twitch ads. First of all, we are going to describe the best method that you can use without any issues in terms of delay or anything like that:

Purple Ads blocker

If you go ahead, it has poor reviews, but it works. To block the Twitch ads using the Purple Ads Blocker, follow the below steps:

Add the blocker to your browser.
Go to the Purple Ads Blocker and click on “Settings”.
You can see the options here, but you do not want to change any of these settings. So, keep them all the same and leave it by default.
Go over to a Twitch Stream and load any stream.
You will see that the ads are gone!

If this method does not work, you can remove Purple Ads Blocker from Chrome or other browsers. Then, you can go ahead and download the Alternate Player for Twitch.tv:

Add this Player to your browser.
Now, you can check any Twitch stream to check if the ads are blocked. If you use this method, you will not see any ads. However, there might be some delay in sort of the chat in the stream.

Therefore, if the first method does not work, use the second method, and it will block the ads completely.
